What is FCA?

Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) has challenged athletes and coaches to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is cultivating Christian principles in local communities nationwide by encouraging, equipping and empowering others to serve as examples and to make a difference.

Reaching over two million people annually on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels, FCA has grown into the largest sports ministry in the world. FCA’s efforts are focused on our “Four C’s” of Ministry: Coaches, Campus, Camps and Community.

COACHES: Through outreach events, training, resources and conferences, we teach coaches to stand up as heroes in Christ for those who look to them for leadership. We build relationships that encourage them to coach with a purpose beyond wins and losses. We are proud not only to minister to these role models, but also to enlist their help in shaping young lives.

CAMPUS: The FCA Campus Ministry is initiated and led by student-athletes and coaches on junior high, high school and college campuses with the assistance of local FCA staff. Support also comes from parents, educators, FCA volunteers, local churches and community leaders. This year, FCA impacted more than 7,125 campuses and more than 350,000 participants.

CAMPS: Called a week of “inspiration and perspiration,” FCA Camp has been changing lives since the first-ever camp, which was held at Estes Park, Colo., in 1956. Most recently, 266 similar camps were conducted nationwide with 46,562 enthusiastic and devoted young athletes attending.

COMMUNITY: The dramatic growth of club, league and church sports presents a significant opportunity for FCA. Non-school-based FCA ministries are made possible through partnerships with local churches, businesses, parents and volunteers. To address this opportunity, we’ve established many sport-specific ministries within FCA. Those include golf, lacrosse, baseball, motocross, health/fitness, endurance, skateboarding, hockey, cheerleading and surfing.
